There’s a lot to do here, all right, and it’s all spread out hundreds of miles apart. A whole lot of desert, sprinkled with spectacular sights that you miss when you hurry across the state on U.S. 40. Once on a plane home from Italy, I sat next to a woman who was coming all the way to the U.S. to visit Georgia O’Keefe’s studio at Ghost Ranch. It made me realize . . .

Traveling to places where there is so little to do is sometimes the ideal vacation. Without the pressure of visiting museums, historic homes, and natural landmarks, it feels just right to sit in a comfortable chair and read all day.
My mantra appears to be “I have a lot to do.” these days. After a long, relatively peaceful period where I just did wanted, I now am in a period where there’s been a huge demand on my time with required attendance at various and sundry appointments and events: business-related, personal, and community-related. By the end of the month, I think things will slow down. I certainly hope so.
