No one had gone into the basement for years. It had dirt walls and had housed a coal cellar that gave everything in it a coating of black dust. He braved the dirt and spider webs to install a liquid metal battery hooked up to solar panels on the roof. Then he started making money selling electricity to the local power company and became independently wealthy. He used the money to go on the road talking about liquid metal battery technology.

Such a practical phrase “making money”, as if one could sit down and manufacture notes and coins – now wouldn’t that be marvellous? But I’ve always said that I was no good with my hands and certainly not good at making money. However I am very good at getting rid of money not on buy ‘things’ but mostly on ‘doing things’, experiences , yes money can buy experiences. Walking in the Himalayas, sailing down the Ganges, exploring the back streets of Montmarte in Paris, money well spent.
