The stormy weather on the east coast of the U.S.A. is on a lot of minds today. Extreme weather has always been part of life, but this storm is a mix of weather factors that make it more potentially terrible than others. Global warming, which many scoff at, is a factor in the extremes of weather we see these days. We need to face up to what we’re doing the planet and take action to reverse it.

A few years ago I wrote a novel about an Asian girl and her son who headed east across the mountain chain. They ended up with a group of caribou herders and crossed the Bering Sea to the shores of North America. My story leads them south.
This was accomplished between 10,000 and 11,000 years ago during a global warming period of 800 years between two ice ages.
Global warming and global cooling are nothing new! We had a terrible global cooling in the 18th Century here in America–thousands died along with animals. There were no factories, no cars, no aeroplanes, and no coal or petroleum.
Global temperature events are part of our Earth System.

There have been storms in my many years
but for some reason
this all seems different.
So much going on
feel unsettled this day as I wait for the outcome.
The sea level was rising, unlike the spirits of those anticipating the approaching storm. The windows were boarded and the grocery stores shelves were emptied all up and down the east coast of Florida. Each city hoping for a particular path projection, but at this point it appeared everyone would be affected.
