Blue-Bellied Lizard

The garden is full of lizards. Mostly dull looking mud colored fellows who are almost faster than the speed of light, but also a few of the blue bellies that are such fun to spot. My doors have been open more than usual lately with people going in and out, and two of the local lizards came inside. They are so fast there’s no hope of catching them, so I spend my time encouraging them to find their way back outside. While I was bent over scooting a lizard along . . .

One Response to Blue Belly

During the summertime, I get to see a few blue jays by the bird feeder in my patio. I have noticed that the plumage on the upper part of their bodies are blue, but the plumage on the ventral aspect of their bodies does not constitute a blue belly. Regardless of that, they are beautiful to watch, and it makes me happy when I see them eating the seed in the feeder.
