Ah, the power of words.  Just heard a funny news report on the new pre-reclined seats that Spirit Airlines is installing in its planes. In this age of peculiar political rhetoric and the inventive reworking of words, I guess it should be no surprise to learn that a pre-reclined seat is fixed in an upright position and can’t be moved.

    ‘What you mean you can’t push it back,’ Jack said, with a nostril tremble that spelt trouble.

    ‘Yes Sir, it’s a pre-reclined seat.

    ‘Well young lady, you can pre-call the captain now, said Jack, as he got up, turned round and kicked the seat backwards. ‘I kinda like them post-inclined.’
