Natalie!

If you’ve read my About page you know that I consider Natalie Goldberg’s writing practice books and teaching the inspiration for this blog. So I’m pretty excited that she has a new book out called The True Secret of Writing. She will be talking about the book in various bookstores around the country in the near future. You might watch for her in your location. Here’s a link to the book on Amazon. (This is an affiliate link.) The True Secret of Writing: Connecting Life with Language

  1. Among the three books on creative writing I currently work with is Natalies book “Wild mind” (http://www.amazon.com/Wild-Mind-Living-Writers-Life/dp/0553347756/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1363789286&sr=1-1&keywords=natalie+goldberg+wild+mind). It is very inspiring. The exercise in Chap 2 has ignited some very nice memory of my late father whom I didn’t see or hear for last 30 years. One of these memories was posted on my blog (linked to this comment). And more will find their way from paper through the keyboard to my screen. :)

  2. Rachel delicately placed her grandmonataliether’s lace doily on her head, pretending it was a wedding veil. She kneeled, imaging a handsome Tony kneeling next to her. “One hand, one heart…” she sang softly to herself. Rachel was certain she looked angelic, just like Natalie Wood in West Side Story.
