Listen to Yourself

Listen to yourself
Be your own observer
Hear what others hear
Heal what others hear
Embrace your scars and tears
Even as you would
Embrace them in another.
Turn and look
Stare into your own eye
Hear your own damning voice
And forgive. Forgive

  1. “I am not sure what is really going on. I am exhausted. I can hardly get out of bed in the morning. It is all I can do to get the kids ready for school in the morning.” I complained to my friend.

“I think you should make an appointment with your doctor.” She replied.

“I can’t do that.” I said. “I need to know what’s wrong with me first.”

She gave me a disbelieving look and laughed.

    “What?” I said.

    “Listen to yourself.”

I pause to consider her suggestion, and we both howl with laughter.

  2. Listen to yourself! your judgement is not perfect but as good as any. It is your tool for decision making and character development. It is the basis for the routes traveled in life and destinations reached. The guiding light in any situation is self. Listen to yourself! You will survive.
