I Need You

She came to the office door and simply stood there. She didn’t speak or interrupt me, but I knew the unspoken message was, “I need you.” I finished typing the sentence, saved the document, and turned to her.

“What’s up?” I asked.

“Could I have some macaroni?” she asked.

That was an easy one – a fix completed in 3 minutes at the microwave. “Sure,” I said, and took her hand.
