Pulling Weeds

Pulling weeds, like cleaning house or doing dishes, is one of those chores that need to be done again and again. A chop wood, carry water kind of activity that is necessary but repetitive. The wax on, wax off jobs in life are a kind of test – are you willing to do the necessary chores of daily living and how do you feel while doing them? Can you do them with an open heart, with satisfaction?

  1. Because they are weeds, the thought of touching them makes me say no. The chore, a tedious job, of pulling weeds is not pleasant; yet removing them from my yard gives me happiness. When they are removed, neighborhood harmony is developed and everyone is pleased. Pulling weeds is to develop harmony and happiness.
