These days when a character on TV wants to get married, some friend goes online to get ordained and conducts the wedding. Nobody even knows a real minister or priest who went to divinity school and got ordained the old fashioned way.

Real people, not TV characters, often . . .

    “It is ordained by the laws of this community,” he announced sonorously, “that any person convicted of theft from the Temple Gardens be cast out to live among The Others”.

    Claire tried not to tremble as she heard the sentence unjustly cast upon her.
