Labels

We’re running out of labels. The sexual and gender preferences of young people today are un.label.able! Which is a sign that it’s about damn time we stopped trying to give people labels that set them apart somehow. They are simply human, doing something perfectly acceptable for a human to do. Let them live without pinning some name on them that makes them feel “other.”

  1. To say we don’t rely on labels is a two edge sword. Most people do when it comes to food, clothing, appliances, cars and furniture. How else would we make informed buying decisions. To place labels on humans can be discriminating and harmful and should never be placed in the same realm as inanimate objects.

  2. Organised religion ,with a venomous hiss
has labelled humans, as of that faith , or this .

    One was mainstream ,
    Other on the fringes ,

    One of comrade-in -arms
from the other , one cringes

What is it with us and labels
we , ardently believe in fables

Who , what, why, where and when ?
Can’t we leave it at that , and then ?

Why carry colours in the head
Brown , white , and molten lead

People we may like , or hate
    The heaven’s massive gate

Do not obey our petty prattle
It is above our mindless battle(s)
