She had an illegal app that gave her the coordinates. She entered them in the control panel of the self-driving car. An alert said, “We are sorry, but we cannot drive you to that location.”

She thought that might happen, so she entered the closest location to the electrified border around the city that she could. She’d heard about a way to get through to the outside using a tunnel. It was her last hope.

  1. “So, where to today, princess?” he said in a teasing Aussie accent that reminded me of the vacation fling I had in Sydney two winters ago.

    “Surprise me Syd,” I chuckled as the automatic seat-belt secured itself at my waist and smooth jazz magically poured out of the car stereo.
