A Bright Sunny Day

When I was a kid there was a DJ on the La Junta, Colorado radio station everyone listened to. He would greet us many days by announcing that it was a bright, sunny day. That was the phrase he always used. I thought it was kind of funny that he used the same phrase so often, but looking back on that old memory I finally appreciate his cheerfulness and encouragement. Let’s have a good day today. After all, it’s a bright, sunny day.

  1. The girl’s feet barely touched the burning stones as she ran toward the shaded veranda, to escape the searing heat of the sun. She wasn’t to know, but this would be the last bright, sunny day. At that moment, something vast moved across the sky, blocking the sun forever.

  2. It was a bright sunny day . The sun had emerged in all its glory , and had bathed everything in warm , golden sunshine . The world looked honey coated . Warm , silky , golden . I stood outside , soaking in the air and sun , like a crocodile . I remembered some wise man saying that we are solar beings . We all derive energy from the sun , directly or indirectly.

We even name our moods and personalities after the sun . Some one has a “sunny disposition ” , someone else has a “cloud hovering over his head”
