Fiesta, Fiesta!

Balloon Fiesta 2018

I live in a place that has a huge party every October. It’s fiesta time along the Rio Grande when the sky fills up with colorful balloons. If the weather cooperates the celebration is complete.

There are plenty of great things to say about my town, but the big balloons once a year top the list.

  1. Tomorrow I will be meeting up with my Spanish group. This is a group of local people who gather monthly to practice speaking in Spanish. There are all levels amongst us, ranging from those of us who know just the very basics (like me), people who have Spanish as their native language and just enjoy being able to speak (and teach) the language with others!

Our group co-ordinator has suggested that we have a theme for tomorrow’s Café y Conversaciones; fiestas! So when we get together tomorrow, we should try to make our conversation centre around this topic.

I do know that fiesta is the Spanish word for party. This should be so easy for me – Halloween is just around the corner, my husband’s birthday is actually on Halloween, and even though he’s not having a party, we will be celebrating.

I have until tomorrow to try to shoehorn fiesta into my conversacion tomorrow!
