I Learned

I learned I could live on a deserted island during this pandemic. Provided I had plenty to eat. And assuming the place wasn’t full of hungry predators who were bigger than I am. Actually, maybe what I really learned is that I can be isolated in my comfy home for months at a time and not go stark raving mad. We writers have an advantage over the rest of the world. We are introverts. Another advantage is that we produce whole worlds in our imagination – so who needs anything outside the house?

  1. I learned that I don’t have to have my life figured out. I can take it one day at a time and prepare for the present day without getting overly anxious about the next day. While it’s like us to schedule our lives away what happens when your schedule is interrupted?

  2. Love has inflicted a mortal wound in my heart. I spend days in a daze thinking about you. I lose track of time and it doesn’t faze me. The distance between us is insurmountable; the silence deafening, but I learned to cope by binge-watching cable series on TV.
