My Process

I cover books for my magazine. I interview a lot of writers in this job. They love it when I ask them about their process. They love to explain how they do what they do, as if all the other writers in the world would do better if they did it the same way.

Here’s my process. I sit down in front of a keyboard and move my fingers over the keys, like a monkey writing Shakespeare. Just write.

  1. I pretty much write the same way as I speak – rushed unfiltered thoughts spilling from my mind onto the laptop, what ever I think or feel. The advantage of writing like this for me is that unlike speaking I get a chance to edit and proof read!

Great post will be following the comments!

  2. My process, for any task I endeavor to do, starts out with organization. In other words, I have to have my ducks all in a row since I can’t work within chaos. Once my thoughts and materials are organized, I can get started to the task at hand.
